Let us drag the misogynous way of life, even further down – to toilet level, men’s urinal style. The Mick Jagger (esque) urinal is installed at a Virgin airlines clubhouse.
Netherlands design company Bathroom Mania created the “Kisses” urinal. “it’s the one target men never miss.” And a “A fresh attitude in sanitary ware!”
The other – found in a Viennese Bar via Feministing.

Oh My God! Lovers of sunshine showers in the bedroom will be q-in up 4 miles 2 get in those bogs, it could rear a race of George Michael-esque characters who love nothing more than loitering in men’s bogs! Noooo!
It’s like men need to be able to degrade women every minute of the day – even when they are taking a piss.
There’s something really, really wrong with these people.
“There’s something really, really wrong with these people.”
That’s an understatement. I wonder what the reaction would be to a women’s bathroom having a man’s open mouth waiting for human waste. Why do they NEED to degrade others? I truly don’t understand.
Delphyne said it all.
As soon as i saw the second picture the first thing I noticed was the ripped stockings and the dirtyness of the legs as well as the way they were spread. The only thing that says to me is ‘victim’. And that says even more about the men who think that’s acceptable.
I can’t stand to look at the second picture. It looks like a corpse, like a raped and murdered woman hung upside down for men to urinate on.
An image says a thousand words
“An image says a thousand words”
And yet, we are surrounded by these images all day every day, everywhere.
I know what it says to me.
Actually Whiztle, I agree.
I cannot look at that bottom picture without getting creeped out. I have to scroll quickly past it.
“it’s the one target men never miss.”
Says who?
My thought on both pics was that now I know what I’m good for to men: Something to piss on or in.
Horrible, horrible, horrible
They hate us.
I’m prepared to listen to an argument that says otherwise but all the evidence points to the fact – they fucking hate us.
From what I recall, the virgin airlines urinal design DID NOT actually end up being used by the airline company. It was a defunct project because of protests.

Unfortunately, of course, that hasn’t stopped the company from manufacturing the product and exporting it to other countries. I wouldn’t be surprised if the whole debacle didn’t actually increase their demand for the product.
sick sick sick indeed.
PS – no joke the design for the kisses urinal was by a woman (not like that matters) but that’s what the lovely manufacturer offered up in response to the furor over it. She did a whole bunch of tv interviews and stuff where she claimed ‘it was playful’….
uhuh…
I am naming the second pic “The Graham Coutts Urinal”.
AD I am pleased that there was enough noise made to have that urinal removed.
That second one looks like a corpse so yes it would probably appeal to Coutts and the rest of ‘em.
Oh yes they hate us all right and the sooner THEY address it and get their heads sorted out, we can start building a safe world for everyone.
It puzzles me why anyone would want to degrade anyone. However, that is just me, and us lot.
Do we know exactly where it is? I’m almost tempted to visit Austria with a sledgehammer.
“They hate us.

There isn’t anything else to say or think after viewing these.
If one was raised in a vacuum and saw this not knowing anything about earth’s histories or socieites – what else could possibly be gotten from this pictures than this: Men hate women, and enjoy that hate.
I showed the pics to my boyfriend. My only commentary was, “This is awful. Look.” He looked at the first picture and said, “That’s not cool.” Then he scrolled to the second pic and said, “That’s not cool at all.” He’s pretty much an average guy…well, except for dating me (I help raise his number to above average. hehe). Anyway, I don’t think that your average guy wants to piss in urinals shaped like mouths or designed to look like rape victims. However, they seem so easily swayed when in the presence of the rest…
It’s so convoluted and confusing sometimes.
“Men hate women, and enjoy that hate.”
I couldn’t agree more, but would stress:
Men hate women, and enjoy that hate.
“Men hate women, and enjoy that hate.”
I couldn’t agree more, but would stress:

Hey – that what gets them… well ‘ard
Yeah it should be called a “hate-on” not a hard-on.
Obviously the urinals are clearly in extremely poor taste and offensive to women. I suggest that they are also offensive to men who appreciate women as people to be cherished, not objects of abuse. This group includes the vast majority of the men I know.
The statements claiming that the existence of these urinals demonstrate categorically that, “Men hate women, and enjoy that hate.” are extremely overblown and anti-men in themselves. It would seem that the authors of the messages repeating this axiom seem to enjoy their hatred of men as a group, not the relatively few men (and apparently at least one woman) who are responsible for the crudity that sparked the debate.
“The statements claiming that the existence of these urinals demonstrate categorically that, “Men hate women, and enjoy that hate.” are extremely overblown and anti-men in themselves.”
Dah, Windsong.
The statement is not based on these two isolated incidents, but a catalogue of misogyny found everywhere, every day.
Men never have to say outright that they hate women, they don’t have to, the hidden rape headlines and the proliferation of porn does that for them.
“Cherish” is not a word that I think of when I see all the tits and ass on show everywhere, or “anal sluts”, or an interactive “toilet rape” from a “fun” sex games site. It’s not the word I think of when I see groups of men leering with their tongues hanging out at a lapdancer showing her genitals, or when I hear a man talking about masturbating to a pussycat dolls video. “Cherish” is not a word I think of when I see the man I’m out with slyly ogling some other womans’ cleavage or butt. No, I don’t think most men “cherish” women at all, if they thought of them as whole human beings, with feelings, if men were not encouraged to be so penis-centric all the time, and thought outside the world of porn, then maybe they could learn to “cherish” women. When I read about surveys that say that 63% of young girls aspire to be topless models, encouraged by the total saturation of the market and culture with images of women that say only one thing to girls – “men only value you by this criteria – this is what they want from a female and this only- that’s what you are worth in life”, I don’t think of the word “cherish”.
Well then, you know what’s coming next – men will just go and re-define the word “cherish” won’t they? Spin it til it suits their needs and make it fit how they define the world – that’s what they always do.
It’s as if men think that by an provocation of sexual arousal they have been given a license to degrade women, because men refuse to see anything degrading about stimulating their male arousal no matter how it is done.
But here’s the funny thing. When feminists say enough of the degrading and the raping and the oppressing and the hating! — why do you hate men so much?
